Kamarupa Pithas or Kamrup Piths are ancient pithas or geographical divisions of Kamarupa. Yogini Tantra
gives the boundaries of four pithas, the same work
which gives boundaries of ancient Kamrup kingdom as well.
Number of Pithas
Kamarupa was divided in four Pithas namely (i) Ratnapitha, the area from the river Karatoya to the river Sonkosh, (ii) Kamapitha, from Sonakosh to the river Rupali, (iii) Swarnapitha, from the river Rupali to the Bharali river and (iv) Saumarapitha between the Bhairavi and the Dikrang river.
